Celebrating the land of the free, home of the brave with my American Honey and crew! #happyfourth #fourthofjuly /arPnMB3TclĬolleen hasn’t talked about any other man she might have dated before Mike, and judging by her social media accounts and her own statements, Mike is her first love, this is her first marriage, and the couple has one child whom they adopted. The adoption was made official in January 2019 but the two haven’t shared the details (gender, age, name) of their child with the public. They spent over 10 years together before Mike got onto his knee and asked Colleen to marry him, and their wedding took place in Dallas, Texas on 17 January 2015.Ĭolleen and Mike both agreed not to have their biological children (or maybe one of them cannot have children) but to rather adopt a child – Colleen used Facebook Live to talk to her fans and announced their decision to adopt. Some things regarding Colleen’s other half are known but she still hasn’t shared many details about their marriage with the public.Ĭolleen and Mike Rodgers first met while they were both studying at the Georgia Institute of Technology, during the event called “Pancake Dinner” organized in 2004. She worked as their meteorologist and providing full weather reports as well as writing weather related stories for more than nine years – in July 2019, she announced she was leaving the network. She began working for the KPSP Local 2 station there, but was part of their team for less than a year before winning a job she has been holding for years now – in July 2010, she joined the WFAA TV network. After matriculation, she enrolled at the Georgia Institute of Technology, from which she graduated in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology (earth and atmospheric sciences), with a minor in business.Ĭolleen first began working at the Severe Storms Research Center of the Georgia Institute while she was still studying there – after finishing her internship, she moved on and had several jobs before starting to work for the WFAA TV station.Ĭolleen’s first job was for the WSB TV station based in Atlanta, Georgia, her hometown – she served as their weather producer for around a year before moving to Palm Springs in California with a belief she would have better chances at further improving her career there. She was popular during the years she spent at high school thanks to her attractive looks, but was always focused on her studies rather than on partying and going out with her friends. ? #wfaa #newchapterĪ post shared by Colleen Coyle on at 4:17pm PDTĬolleen grew up being fascinated by weather, and her passion endured throughout the years leading her to become a popular meteorologist in the US. This one’s a long one, but hang in there with me. I think that’s one reason why WFAA has always had a reputation for being an investigative powerhouse.North Texas, I’m in my kitchen again! Must mean another big life update. There’s a passion for excellence here and we set the bar high for ourselves. "WFAA stands behind me and empowers me to really get to the bottom of an issue, no matter how long it takes. "What many people may not realize is that the seven or eight-minute-long story you see on TV may have taken seven or eight months to uncover," Huffman said on her WFAA bio. Murrow and EMMY award-winning reporter was born and raised in Oklahoma City and earned her degree from Southern Methodist University (SMU). Prior to arriving in DFW TV, Huffman worked for: Huffman joined WFAA in 2015, replacing Byron Harris who retired. Together we’ve changed laws and changed lives." Especially, thank you to the countless people who trusted me to tell their stories. Thanks to my my agent, my husband, my co-workers and my news directors for their support every step of the way. As a result I’ve learned so much about this crazy world we live in. Throughout this journey I’ve prided myself on asking the tough and uncomfortable questions. Perhaps most importantly, I’ve interviewed average Americans just struggling to have their voices heard. I’ve interviewed countless victims, criminals, high powered officials and top politicians. I’ve reported some very exciting stories and also some very painful ones. I’ve had both the privilege and the responsibility to let loose a little more truth into the world by shining a light in areas that some prefer to be kept dark.Īlong the way I’ve worked with incredible photographers and producers. My job as WFAA’s investigative reporter has taken me to some amazing places. It’s been a heck of a ride, to say the least. ![]() ![]() "I want to let you know that I have decided to leave WFAA at the end of the year so that I can refocus my passion and my skills into a new adventure! I’m not quite ready to share what that is yet but I am very excited about this next chapter! ![]() Charlotte Huffman, WFAA 8 Dallas investigative reporter, is leaving the station at the end of 2021. ![]()
